VABF 2017: CALL FOR EXHIBITORS
Deadline to register to participate: April 15, 2017
Publishers, artists, collectives, artist-run centres, institutions and art book distributors are welcome to apply to participate in the 2017 Vancouver Art Book Fair by sending a description of your publishing practice or program (including web links and low-res images, as appropriate) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To Participate Remotely
Publishers who cannot attend but would like to participate in VABF 2017 can submit their books to the VABF Library & Archive project, which will be exhibited throughout the duration of the fair and at all subsequent fairs to come. Each year the collection is also activated by a VABF Library & Archive Artist-in-Residence. For more information, please contact email@example.com.
The sixth annual Vancouver Art Book Fair is a multi-day festival of artists’ publishing that showcases dozens of local and international exhibitors who produce everything from books, magazines, zines and printed ephemera to digital, performative or other experimental forms of publication. Artists’ projects and reading rooms activate all three floors of the Vancouver Art Gallery Annex, hourly talks and performances by artists from across Canada and the globe take place in the Gallery’s Library, and readings and workshops curated by SAD Mag unfold in the Art & Literary Lounge.
Free and open to the public, VABF is the longest-running international art book fair in Canada. In 2017 the event is anticipated to attract over 5,000 visitors from across the Greater Vancouver Area and beyond.

VABF is seeking emerging leaders in the arts and publishing communities who want to be a part of making our sixth edition of the fair the best one yet. The VABF Leadership Team is the magic behind the fair and the organization’s other ancillary events. Members are actively involved in the lead-up to VABF 2017 and its delivery, and have a unique opportunity to learn some new skills, gain work experience, contribute to an emerging non-profit organization, make some new friends and earn some free stuff.
For 2017, we are particularly looking for those with skills, experience and interest in graphic design, marketing and publicity, fundraising, and art book libraries.
