Legend Press are delighted to acquire World rights for Matt Wilven’s second novel Farzaneh and the Moon, which will be published in 2019. The deal was made by Legend Press’s Commissioning Editor Lauren Parsons, direct with the author.
Matt Wilven’s novel, The Blackbird Singularity (Legend Press, 2016), was shortlisted for an Amazon Rising Star Award, longlisted for the Guardian’s Not the Booker Prize and featured in WHSmith’s Fresh Talent campaign (2017). Melissa DeCarlo, author of The Art of Crash Landing, commented that his writing was ‘masterful… intense and satisfyingly off-beat’. Farzaneh and the Moon is his second novel.
Farzaneh and the Moon is a novel about coming of age in 21st century London. N falls for Farzaneh, a tragic but charismatic outsider, and is forced to reappraise everything he knows. She takes him to the edge of what a person will do for love, and what they have to do to find a place in the world.
Lauren Parsons, Commissioning Editor comments ‘We are thrilled to have signed up Matt’s second novel. Matt is a phenomenal literary talent and we are delighted to be working on this unique and reflective novel about the search for meaning and identity’.
