THE COMING STRAWBERRY MOON

i gave
my

blood and
urine

i got to read
three

linda stevenson poems

vape pen
in hand

i set off searching
for a
bar of soap

that wont make
me

smell like

a bus full of
monday
commuters

i found a bar of
goats milk soap

in a draw string sachet

splurging
on
some

bhut jolokia
ghost peppers
flakes

thursday is the strawberry moon

PARTS UNKNOWN

he had a tv show
called

parts unknown

he attended
a

buddhist death ritual
in bhutan

on the final day
of shooting

the last
episode of

the show

then
he

went back

to
france

and
killed himself

parts unknown

CASU MARZU

so
mr trungpa
said

eternity

is a constant
living

electric experience

that
we are not really

living
and existing

but

rather
it is the

world
that

lives and exists

and
we

anam thubten
said
are

melting

scabs
of
frost

the thawing gnaw
the gnawing thaw

buddha
cant

poop

for
you

enjoyed samsara so much.
forgot to be shocked a long time ago

haunted
by a

pasta fagioli

if you live life
right

sordid tragedy is one of the amenities

(bully originally
meant

sweetheart)

how do you
tell
a

annus horribilis.
from

a
casu marzu

(even with the
haptagian
and

verrratic)

we must dig in and get through to tea
i think wisdom is not for me

Vincent Zepp

I’ve been blessed to have such a rich tradition of poetry, art, music, to available to me.  From Ferlinghetti who opened my eyes, Pound and Eliot, the various significant literary and art movements of the 20th century.  Then there was the haiku master Basho who showed me frogs leaping into my mind’s pond.  John Berryman said our poetry should be something no one else could do.  I’ve tried to focus on that idea.
