Are you bored of Valentine’s Day? Are you looking for an event with no flowers, no chocolates and not even a lousy card? Well, maybe we have the right choice for you. Get ready to meet the Poetry Circus‘ crew! They are people able to understand just how you feel – they’re poets after all. So for the lost, the lovelorn and the generally miserable, on 15th February at the Bongo Club, Poetry Circus presents their annual cabaret showcase of the finest spoken word talent from all four corners of Brexit-torn Britain in a deliciously heart-wrenching evening of performance poetry and physical theatre.
Almost-Scottish-Slam-Champion, Angie Strachan, tops the bill, backed up by a crew of the most delectable bleeding hearts ever assembled under one roof, and you can thrill to Northern Ireland Slam Champion – Elizabeth McGeown; Jo Gilbert, Molly McLachlan, Gray Crosbie, Suky Goodfellow, Orla Kelly, Rebecca Clark, Craig A Black, Miss Leading, Maud Start, Annie Foy and Max Scratchmann.
Enough for any cabaret programme, you’d think, but Poetry Circus also bring you wordless poetry from theatrical clown, Rachel Leonard; a superb burlesque floorshow from Sanctuary of Sin’s astounding Andromada Mystic; and a fantastic Scottish-Cajun musical finale from the amazing Jennifer Ewan Band!
