How long have you been writing? I have been writing on and off since my teams but have been especially productive over the last 8 years.
What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment as a writer? Well, not sure that it’s a great accomplishment, but my poem A Rose For Gaza being shortlisted for the Theatre Cloud ‘War Poetry for Today‘ prize certainly gave me a shock and made me more confident to submit my work for publication!
Where can we find your work? You can find my published work at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lynn-White-Poetry/1603675983213077?fref=ts and lynnwhitepoetry.blogspot.com
How do you react to rejections? I’m fairly relaxed about rejections, though it’s particularly disappointing if it’s a journal that I really like and where I have been published before.
How do you react when one of your submissions is accepted for publication? I’m really pleased to have a piece accepted, again especially so if it’s a journal that I like.
What is your best piece of advice on how to stay sane as a writer? Staying sane is easy so long as you are relaxed and don’t develop delusions of grandeur!!
What is your favorite book? My favourite book would be a toss up between Lucky Jim which I never tire of re-reading and which makes me laugh every time, and Alice in Wonderland which has inspired several poems and, no doubt, will inspire more!
Who is your favorite author? Probably Margaret Attwood is my favourite author at present.
What makes you laugh? I have a quirky sense of humour, maybe from living so long on Merseyside!
What is your preferred drink while you write? I don’t eat or drink while writing!
What is your favorite food? I love Asian food.
Shakespeare or Bukowski? Definitely Bukowski!
